Michael Guindon
Principal Consultant & Senior Sustainability Advisor
Michael is a senior sustainability leader with over a decade of international experience guiding organizations through complex ESG challenges. He has worked across Europe, Southeast Asia, and North America, with a focus on transforming agricultural commodity production in tropical regions, including within palm oil, soy, cattle, timber, cocoa, coffee, textiles, and rubber supply chains. His approach centres on creating meaningful, lasting change by fostering collaboration, trust, and shared purpose.
He brings a calm and strategic presence to his work, shaped by extensive experience in organizational strategy, program design, cross-sector partnerships, and capacity building. He has worked with leading non-profits including WWF, Global Canopy, and the Zoological Society of London—managing multi-million-dollar initiatives, securing project funding, and driving collective action to advance deforestation-free and net-zero commitments.
Michael is known for his pragmatic approach, thoughtful communication, and steady leadership in complex environments. He has contributed to multi-stakeholder initiatives such as the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and the Accountability Framework, helping to strengthen governance systems and voluntary sustainability standards.
He also brings strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, having co-authored several publications and reports on supply chain sustainability.

I’ve overseen the design and delivery of multi-million-dollar programs to support the transformation of agricultural commodity production, managing teams of 3–10 people and budgets up to $2.5 million.
I also bring extensive hands-on experience streamlining systems and workflows to ensure resources are focused on what truly drives change on the ground.
-
I’ve built and nurtured partnerships across the corporate and non-profit sectors, and helped align diverse stakeholders around shared sustainability goals.
I bring extensive experience representing civil society in multi-stakeholder initiatives such as the RSPO, Accountability Framework, and Scope 3 Working Group convened by WBCSD and the IPI.

My expertise spans policy briefs, strategy documents, and high-impact publications on topics including deforestation, biodiversity, climate, human rights, and corporate performance.
